Child Drop in Centre at Mathurapahari
13th June 2020 Project

Mathurapahari is a small tribal hamlet with an approximate population of around 500 people. Unlike Chanda, the villagers of Mathurapahari are mostly poor with no regular source of income. General development indicators are quite low in this village. People here mostly work in nearby stone crushers or are engaged in their small land parcels with agricultural work. Rearing of animals is quite common, though not to an extent which might change the economy of the village. Very small percentage of children goes to schools. (The local primary school is not more than hundred metres away from the village). A large number of children work to make ends meet for their family. During the evening, the tribals get together and enjoy their traditional drinks.
